Live Class Browser Setting Instructions<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

In accessing the Live Class Videos for our courses, please read the following.<\/p>\n

MOBILE DEVICES<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are using your mobile device<\/strong> (i.e. iPhone, Smartphone, iPAD, Tablet, etc), go to the App Store with your mobile device and download Photon Browser which works with Adobe Flash.\u00a0 Install the appropriate version for your device (Android or iOS).\u00a0 You will also need to have the current version of AdobeConnect for mobile device which you can also download for free from the App Store.<\/p>\n

Please know that small mobile devices should not be your primary method to view course material and videos as they will not allow you to full access to video controls and downloadable material presented in the training videos.<\/strong><\/p>\n

COMPUTER SYSTEMS AND LAPTOPS<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are using laptop or workstation computer <\/strong>(i.e. MacBook, Notebook, iMac, Windows PC based systems), make the following appropriate settings in your computer and browsers.<\/p>\n

Make sure your system has the latest Adobe Flash Player.\u00a0 If not, visit their website to download the appropriate version.\u00a0 Their link is:<\/p>\n

The Adobe Support Team advised us that some internet browsers are set to automatically play the plug-in “Shockwave Player”.\u00a0 This plug-in over rides the activation of “Flash Player” and would often prevent access to AdobeConnect.\u00a0 AdobeConnect and Flash Player are required to view our Online Interactive Tutorial (OIT) videos and to participate in our Live Classes.\u00a0 If you are having issues logging in for live classes or viewing the OIT videos, it may be due to a conflict between the plug-in’s.<\/p>\n

The steps to ensure the Shockwave Player plug-in (“plug-in” also known as “add-in”) is deactivated in a browser or internet setting vary from browser to browser and computer to computer.\u00a0 The following are the basic steps for Firefox and Safari users.\u00a0 The steps should be similar to other browsers like Chrome, Internet Explore, Edge, and others.<\/p>\n

You can do an internet search on the instructions specific to your browser.\u00a0 For example, in your browser enter, “How to Enable Flash in Google Chrome on Mac”.<\/p>\n

Otherwise, contact the Adobe Tech Support at 1-800-422-3623 to specifically address the specific settings for your browser or computer.<\/p>\n

Firefox Browser Users:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Click on the Menu Icon<\/strong><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Click on “Add-ons<\/strong><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Look for “Shockwave Flash”.\u00a0 Select “Never Activate” setting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 Close\/Quit then Restart Firefox<\/strong><\/p>\n

For Safari Browser<\/strong><\/p>\n

Adobe’s Instruction on Setting Safari Browser<\/a><\/p>\n

Since there are various versions of Safari, go to Adobe’s Help Site for specific steps for each version.\u00a0 Use this link,Adobe Help Site<\/a> \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>To deactivate Shockwave Player, follow these steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Click on “Safari” located at the top left corner of your computer screen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>2.\u00a0 Select and Click on “Preferences”<\/strong><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Follow the four steps in the image:<\/strong><\/p>\n

First, Click and Highlight “Adobe Shockwave Player”<\/p>\n

Second, Look for “When visiting other websites” and Select “Off”<\/p>\n

Third, Close the Preference Window by clicking on the red circle.<\/p>\n

Fourth, Quit and Restart Safari Browswer<\/p>\n

UPDATE Adobe Connect on Your Computer\/Device \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

If You Are –<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Receiving an error message stating, “We are currently working on this site,” even though our site is operational?<\/li>\n
  2. Experiencing video freezing when viewing past webinar or course recordings?<\/li>\n
  3. Experiencing video and audio sync issues when viewing past webinar or course recordings?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If you are experiencing any or all of the issues above, please\u00a0download and install the Update File for Adobe Connect. To update Adobe Connect on your computer:<\/p>\n

    Please click one of the following relevant links to download an Update File. \u00a0Once downloaded in your Download file, double click on the Update File to open. \u00a0A prompt may pop up and ask “Are you sure you want to open it?” – Simply click “Open.” Your system should start to install the Update File. \u00a0Follow the prompts as they appear.<\/p>\n

    Consider the following for additional actions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. \u00a0In many cases connection errors are due to a poor internet connection (WiFi or hardwire). Freezing videos is normally due to a bandwidth issue as well. \u00a0Our webinar, live classes, and recordings require at least 5 Mbps to download without interruption. \u00a0You can check your speed of your connection with this link:\u00a0www.speedtest.net<\/a><\/p>\n

    2. \u00a0Our site has had an issue using Chrome. \u00a0If possible please consider using Firefox or Internet Explorer as your web browser. \u00a0Safari and FireFox for Macs seem to be working well for Mac Users.<\/p>\n

    3. \u00a0Check your internet settings to ensure Adobe Flash Player automatically activates to play the recordings. \u00a0Also look in your internet options and internet security settings and check that the IIH, TFIOH, and AdobeConnect websites are allowable sites in your browser.<\/p>\n

    4. \u00a0In some cases, downloading and re-installing the Adobe Flash Player and the Adobe Connect plug-in’s have helped to remedy some tech issues.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
