Sundeep Lal, Ph.D., MBA
Senior Managing Director & Head of Healthcare & Life Sciences
Sundeep is head of Healthcare and Life Sciences at Auctus Capital Partners. He brings more than twenty years of healthcare leadership experience in med-tech and pharma in US and Emerging Markets with expertise in strategy, BD, hospital solutions sales, business model innovation and new products at Medtronic & Merck. At Medtronic, Sundeep covered Asia-Pacific from Singapore. At Merck & Co, he held global roles based in its corporate US headquarters. He currently spends his time in New York and Singapore. Key accomplishments include: Over $45 billion of BD transactions, $19B+ of revenue added; Led or played a key role in 350+ BD opportunities globally including US and China; 25 hospital contracts with $50+M of contracted revenue for a startup “Solutions” business; Relationships with US and Asian investors (VC’s, PE’s, LPs, HNIs, Family Offices, State Sovereign funds).

Muhammad Azfar
Managing Partner
Muhammad Azfar is CEO and Managing Partner at Auctus Capital Partners, overseeing investment banking activities and the strategic direction of the firm. In the last decade, he has been directly involved in more than fifty financing and M&A assignments totaling over $1 Billion across a range of industry sectors including technology, healthcare and industrials. Prior to Auctus, he served as managing director and partner at MSC Advisors, held vice president and director positions at Houlihan Smith & Company, and analyst positions with Advisory and Intermediary Services, LLC. Muhammad has been quoted in national business news and global financial media for subject matter expertise and received numerous awards for outstanding achievement. He is a FINRA-registered investment banking representative and holds series 79, 82, 63 securities licenses, as well as series 24 general securities principal. He also serves as the CEO and Chief Compliance Officer for Auctus Securites, LLC, a FINRA member broker-dealer. Muhammad is a graduate of Harvard Business School, a founding member of the Chicago chapter of Exit Planning Exchange (XPX), and active member of Chicago based non-profits supporting underprivileged and inner-city youth.

Hemant Bajaj
Managing Director
Mr. Hemant Bajaj has worked in corporate finance for more than 15 years advising clients across multiple industries. Prior to joining Auctus Capital Partners, he was the Managing Partner of Rezzonance Capital, an advisory firm specializing in equity, debt, and M&A transactions within the Technology, Healthcare, Real Estate and Manufacturing & Engineering sectors. From 2006-2008, Hemant worked as a Vice President at Allegro Capital Advisors, supporting clients on cross border M&A transactions between the US, UK and India. He has also served in various consulting and project management roles at JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, and Hewlett Packard. Hemant holds a BE In Computer Engineering from the University of Pune (India), MS in Computer Science from the Illinois institute of Technology, and MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

John Duguid, Ph.D., MBA
Managing Director, Healthcare & Life Sciences
Over the past 20 years, John Duguid has managed more than 200 public and private investments to generate portfolio growth and positive returns in the life sciences and medical technology space. He brings extensive experience to the life sciences consulting and investment field and practical research experience, previously working as a senior scientist in the field of gene therapy and drug delivery. John is a registered investment banking representative with Auctus Securities and holds FINRA series 82 and 63 licenses, is founder of QMI Capital Management LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor, and has consulted with several life science companies that concentrate on portfolio valuation, technical assessment and strategic initiatives. He holds a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Minnesota, a BS in biomedical engineering from the University of Iowa and an MBA from Cornell University. John is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute, CFA Society Boston, CFA Society New York and the American Association of Individual Investors.
